About Us

The company was born from our family's passion for genealogy and the desire to trace the history of our ancestors. The research began more than two decades ago before being interrupted and eventually resumed a few years ago. As for myself, I pursued a degree in History at university, and it was after my studies that I considered starting my own genealogy firm. I then partnered with my family members to create it. This is how StemmaGen came to life.

Genealogical research is, to me, an adventure—almost a treasure hunt—constantly unveiling new landscapes, eras, and intertwined stories that connect with our country's history and can help explain a family's contemporary history.

We strive to trace the history of your ancestors, whether it involves creating a family tree, searching for a specific branch, a couple, or even a single person. In theory, we can work on the genealogy of anyone in France. However, as we are based in Yvelines (Yellow on the map below), we prioritize archives from nearby departments (Eure, Seine-Maritime, Oise, Val-d’Oise, Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Essonne as seen in orange). Some records are not accessible online, such as civil status records less than 100 years old, particularly birth and marriage certificates. However, we can access them in person when it is less than 75 years old.
